Ulcerative haemorrhagic colitis

Rectocolita ulcerohemoragica is a term used in Romanian to refer to ulcerative colitis. It is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that mainly affects the colon and rectum. As with ulcerative colitis, symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea with blood or pus, rectal bleeding, urge to defecate, weight loss, fatigue and fever.

The exact cause of ulcerative colitis is not fully understood, but is thought to involve a combination of genetic, environmental and immune system factors. Treatment generally involves medications to reduce inflammation and manage symptoms, such as anti-inflammatories, immunosuppressants and biologics. In some cases, surgery may be necessary, especially if complications such as severe bleeding, perforation of the colon or increased risk of colon cancer occur.

It is important that people with ulcerative colitis work closely with their healthcare providers to manage their condition and prevent recurrences. They may also benefit from lifestyle changes, such as dietary adjustments, stress management, and regular exercise, to help manage symptoms and improve their overall health and well-being.
